Brian Stann… All American UFC Heavyweight fighter, Mixed Martial Arts Instructor, United States Marine Silver Star recipient and World Champion on Elite Team Manu.

Brian Stann grew up as an “All American” boy in Scranton, Pennsylvania.  He was born September 24, 1980 at Yokota Air Base in Japan and his family moved shortly thereafter to Scranton, PA.  He excelled in sports from an early age and became a record setter quarterback throughout school.  His academic excellence afforded him the honor of acceptance to the prestigious United States Naval Academy in 1999.

NAVAL ACADEMY SUCCESSES:  1) LINE BACKER,  2) HELPED HIS TEAM BEAT ARMY 3 OUT OF 4 GAMES,  3)  EARNED BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ECONOMICS DEGREE  4) commissioned to United States Marines,  5) Began serving his country in 2003 as a Marine.

IRAQ TOUR OF DUTY  Beginning May 8-14, 2005, Brian bravely led his men into battle until one day they were caught in an ambush. Brian employed all his training from “football” and had his team rally while he called in air support and direct fire from tanks.  All the while they were under assault from rocket propelled grenades, machine gun fire and detonating IED’s.  Brian and his team were caught in a 360 degree assault fight that they won with hard work, guts, determination and support.   

 Great Strength of Character and Endurance 

Brain was awarded the Silver Star and many of his men received prestigious awards for their great valor in facing the forboding enemy without wavering.

After returning from Iraq, Brian married his college sweetheart, Teressa, a former Philadelphia Eagles cheerleader.  Now she is “Brian’s cheerleader!

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

Brian learned and developed his tremendous skills in Mixed Martial Arts  at the Marine Corps Center for Excellence in Quantico, Virginia.  He trained, earned belts and used accumulated leave time to compete in fights and get more training which earned him a Black Belt as Instructor/Trainer status in the Marine Corps Martial Arts program. 

2006 BEGAN BRIAN’S FIGHTING CAREER but while still serving in Iraq, he entered competition and got a first round knockout in his very first fight.  This lead to a deal with World Extreme Cagefighting and he got another first round knockout during his first fight under their banner. This occurred in “16 seconds” making it the fastest knockout in WEC history.  “Combat is my profession,” said Brian.  Brian left active duty May, 2008.

Alpharetta, Georgia is home for Brian, his wife and their 2 daughters, he has written/published a book: Heart for the Fight, is a public speaker to high schools, sports teams, award ceremonies, Marine Corps Birthday Balls and for large corporations.  Brian is also involved in his community.

PRO MMA & UFC FIGHTER  Brian competes as a middleweight in Pro Mixed Martial Arts competitions for the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship.) as a top contender. On March 3, 2013, Brian faced the legendary “Wanderlei Silva” in the cage, at Saitama Super Arena, in Tokyo Japan.  Brian did not back down from Silva, and even though he lost to Silva by knockout in round two, Brian received Japan’s Fight of the Night Honors.  Brian has a long record of winning which keeps him among the UFC’s top contenders globally.

UFC fighters are hand picked from the best of the best.  The few who are chosen make it to the pinnacle of MMA fighting…”the Octagon.”

Brian and his partner George Lockhart, are both US Marines and Black Belt Instructors from the Marine Corps Martial Arts program.  They own Warriors Legion MMA School.
